Filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s epic opus on the life of a mob hitman premieres this Wednesday on Wednesday. For the past month, the film had only been available in select cinemas, but starting the day before Thanksgiving, it will be available to all Netflix subscribers.

I reviewed the film for Creative Screenwriting magazine online a few weeks ago, and here is the link to my review here: https://bit.ly/2QMTtdZ

THE IRISHMAN stars Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, and Al Pacino, and they’re all getting a lot of awards buzz, along with the film. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to catch it as it’s vintage Scorsese and despite its violence, it’s a moving and contemplative piece of cinema.

It’s also one of four Netflix produced films appearing in theaters first this season before they drop on the streaming platform a few weeks later.  DOLEMITE IS MY NAME was the first and is now streaming for subscribers. MARRIAGE STORY is currently in theaters and drops on Netflix on December 6. THE TWO POPES opens in select theaters this week and will premiere on Netflix on December 20. Netflix is having quite a year, and all four films are expected to figure heavily in the balloting this awards season.

Happy Thanksgiving!
